What does Makeean Polymers do?

Makeean Polymers cc manufactures water-based emulsions. The head office and factory are in Pretoria. The company also operates in South Africa with offices and warehouses in Cape Town and Durban, exports to countries in Africa and elsewhere, and reaches Australasia through Makeean Polymers Australia.

Because of the nature of the industry, Makeean can adapt, virtually on a daily basis, to demand from a broad base of customers. Large storage for both raw materials and finished goods sits behind that flexibility.

Ian Macfarlane started the business from a need to be self-sufficient. After his death, his son Wayne Macfarlane heads the operation, backed by a technically strong team. The factory is a 15 kt per annum operation.
